| Oh the musical places we'll go! |
So, in honor of this tiny milestone (more of a pit stop, really), one of you lucky readers is going to receive a mix CD and a couple samples. Don't ask me what samples yet -- I dunno.
I won't give up the track list of CD, but I can tell you that the name is "What's a Girl To Do?" and is likely to feature artists such as: The Bird & The Bee, The Heathers, A Fine Frenzy, OK Go, Bat for Lashes, and many more. Never heard of any of them? That's okay! I live in Portland, where we specialize in obscure things you've never heard of. Also, we put birds on things and call it art! Don't believe me? There's even a video about it.
All interested parties welcome regardless of place of residence. Live on the moon? We will still try to reach you!
Post before 12:01 AM Pacific Standard Time on 02/01/2011 to enter, and tell me what artists you are listening to right now.
This inquiring mind always wants to know!

The Wiggles. Not by choice. :D
Yay for drawings and Yay for mixtapes (sorry, mix CD's!). My husband has a bit of a crush on Bat for Lashes, so been listening to her stuff quite a bit (we went to see her in concert, and I empathize with the the crush :). Lately, my favorites are old standbys: Songs:Ohia/Magnolia Electric Co., the Replacements, and Brian Eno.
Jen: I feel for you. Seriously.
phthalo -- I would LOVE to see Bat for Lashes live. And Florence. And Jenny Lewis. And Amanda Palmer.
I could go on...
And nothing wrong with old standbys, especially ones as good as those!
Also, phthalo, if I thought anyone would be able to receive cassettes anymore, I'd be all about that. I loved me some cassettes back in the day. Now I stick to CDs, which people can also rip, so that's easier for everyone. Though I also admit to buying $20 mp3 players at Frys, filling them with songs, and sending them as gifts.
It sounds interesting I am not familiar with any of those groups but I will check them out on Pandora
Nina Simone and Billie Holiday ~ good music to clean house by :)
Taffy -- I hope you like them. I like a lot of different kinds of music, but these fall kind of together, which happens a lot with my mixes.
Oh True Apothecary -- Thanks again for the shout out and kind words. Glad to see you around! :)
